What Is It?

A two day, four hours (9:00 am - 1:00 pm PST) per day California or National Exam Review Class.   Class tuition is not taxable.

How Does It Work?

The Distance Learning students attend the class from home or work using a  PC desktop or PC laptop with Internet access.  The students see the instructor’s presentation through the Web on their computer via “Go To Meeting” or "WebEx".  “Go To Meeting” and "WebEx" is a service which allows students to see the instructor’s presentation on the students' computer at no additional cost to the students.  The lecture is heard through the computer speakers or a headset plugged into the computer via VOIP.  Questions or comments can be made through a headset or microphone plugged into the computer via VOIP.  Please note that some headsets offer both hearing and speaking ability as they usually come with microphones built in (please confirm if yours do).

An e-mail is sent to students the day before the class detailing “Go To Meeting” or "WebEx" log-in instructions.  Please note that this e-mail is addressed to all students per class, so if you want your e-mail address to remain confidential please notify AIT Exam Prep upon registration.

What Do I Do Before Attending Class?

          • Print Class Materials
          • Read Title 22, Division 5, Chapters 2.5, 3 and 4 and review F-tags for the California Class
          • Read NAB’s Study Guide (4th Edition or 5th Edition), Student Outline, F-tags and the Survey Process for the National Class

What is the Last Possible Day to Register For a Class?

The last possible day to register for a class is seven business days prior to the class so that the registration form can be processed and the student can receive class materials prior to the class.  If you need to register within the seven business day requirement please contact AIT Exam Prep to see if arrangements can be made.

What Do I Need To Participate In The Class?

  • A PC desktop or lap top (Please note that our software is not compatible with  Mac computers)
  • Internet access
  • Headset with microphone built in, plug in microphone and computer with speakers

How Do I Get My Class Materials?

Once you decide on which class you would like to purchase, add it to the shopping cart.   After selecting your class, you will need to check out of the shopping cart.  After completing the check out process you will receive a receipt for your order and AIT Exam Prep will begin processing your order.  Processing time for class registration is up to 36 hours. Once your order has been processed you will receive a second receipt from AIT Exam Prep.  This receipt will include a link(s) and key code needed to access and activate your material.  To access the material, copy and paste your link into your Internet browser (we recommend using Internet Explorer).  This link is needed to download our software to your PC desk top or PC lap top (Mac computers are not compatible with our software).  Once your software has been downloaded to your computer you will be able to activate your software by typing in your key code.  If you lose your material for any reason unrelated to our software (eg. virus, computer crashes, lose your computer etc.) then you will have to purchase your material(s) again in order to be issued another key code.  One activation key code is given per student order so you can only activate our material on one computer.

Please refer to the instructions below for step-by-step directions on how to access your class material.  Study Aids are not included in the class tuition (please see our Study Aids page for more information).  Class material is printable one time.  Class material is accessible for an unlimited number of times for one year on the computer used to activate the software.  Because this material is built into software your material is not shipped to you.

Make sure you are using up-to-date regulations.  According to Barclays, there were 44 page changes in 2008 for the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 5.  You might be surprised how many people fail both the California and national exam by one or two points!   Studying out-dated material may be the cause for failure; do not let this happen to you.

Instructions for Downloading and Opening your Class Materials

System Requirements

  • US Windows XP (SP2+) or Windows Vista
  • 256 MB RAM (512MB recommended)
  • Pentium III class or better processor
  • Sound Card (optional)
  • Internet Connection
  • Please note MAC computers are not compatible with our software
Begin your download process by clicking on the link in your second receipt.  If nothing happens, open Internet Explorer.  Copy and paste your link into the address bar of Internet Explorer.  A box will open on your desktop titled “File Download”.  Select “Open” to download.  Follow the suggestions given by the wizard.  This is done by clicking on “next”.   If you want to browse and put the files in a specified location other than the default location you risk losing access to the software.  You have only one activation key code, so decide which computer you want your item(s) on.

Run the software using unzipped or “extracted” files; your files should automatically unzip when you click on “run”.  If your files do not automatically unzip, then select the AIT Exam Prep manila folder (by double clicking on it).  Once the folder is open, scroll down the list of files and double click on setwiz_i to unzip the files.  Once your files are unzipped then double click on the manilla folder again, find setwiz_i and double click.  A new setup wizard will appear.

Complete the “Setup Wizard” by following the instructions given by the wizard, which automatically begins and appears on your desktop once your files are unzipped.  You will then be prompted for a key code which is located on your second receipt.  Please note that by accepting the license agreement you can be legally prosecuted for any violation of the copyright and/or license agreement.

Once the set-up of your software is completed by the wizard you will find an AIT Exam Prep icon on your desktop.  Double click on this icon to access your class material.  If you checked the box “run software immediately” then the software will automatically begin.  If the software does not automatically begin double click on the icon.

Make sure you are using an updated free version of Adobe Reader so that any highlights of the material(s) can be properly seen.

What Support Comes with the Class?

Instructions on accessing your class material are posted above under “Instructions for Downloading and Opening your Class material”.  Please review the instructions prior to downloading your software and class material.

If you are unable to access the class material on your own then additional complimentary support is available.  Please e-mail us a description of what is happening and we will contact you to arrange a time when you will be at your computer and available for phone support.    Please remember our software is not compatible with Mac computers.

An AIT Exam Prep instructor is available to address quick questions you may have regarding class material.  Please e-mail your question and an answer will be returned by phone or e-mail.  Please leave both a work and cell phone contact number.

In addition, the AIT Exam Prep instructor is available during class breaks and after class to answer questions.

If you feel you need additional assistance you may take advantage of private tutoring.  One of our instructors can assist you up to 60 minutes by phone or e-mail at an hourly rate of $120.00.  People opt for this plan to fine tune studying, review material prior to their test and to clarify questions from study aids.  (Refer to our Products Support page for more details.)

Advantages to Distance Learning Classes

Breaking the class into 2 days and 4 hour blocks (9:00 am - 1:00 pm PST) serves the following purposes:
  • Students may work a half day, thereby not losing a full day's work
  • Students can absorb the material in smaller increments to avoid information "overload"
  • Students in different time zones are less burdened with time changes as all class times are offered in Pacific Standard Time (PST).
  • Students save time, no travel is needed to get to the class
  • Students incur no travel expenses
