Class Overview
The California NHA Licensure Exam tests on Chapter 2.5 Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Chapter 3 Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), and Chapter 4 Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) of the California Code of Regulations, Title 22 Social Security, Division 5. In addition, OBRA is covered on the exam. The AIT Exam Prep class (please see our
Class Information page for Class Details) reviews the Title 22 portion of the exam with suggested guidelines for the OBRA portions. Classes are outstanding because the instructor explains the material in the most understandable language and teaches successful test taking strategies. The Study Aids available for purchase focus on important material that may be tested on the California exam.
You will see that there is a tremendous amount of material on this exam; therefore to rely on short term memory is not a reasonable strategy. To maximize student time, concentration and efficiency AIT Exam Prep includes a workbook with the latest version of Title 22's relevant sections. This workbook is included in the class tuition and includes 50 sample test questions which are reviewed throughout the class day. Class tuition is not taxable.
Make sure you are studying up-to-date regulations. According to Barclays, there were 44 page changes in 2008 for Title 22, Division 5. Many people fail this exam by one or two points! Studying out-dated material may be the cause for failure; do not let this happen to you.
The class material is downloaded (please see our
Class Information page) and printable one time upon activation. It is built into software and can be accessed an unlimited number of times for one year on the computer it was activated on. In addition, it is imperative to not only know each area of information but also how the regulations compare to one another. Therefore, AIT Exam Prep's instructor will contrast areas in SNF, ICF and OBRA pointing out differences to give the students tools to identify what type of test question they are facing.
This material may seem dry and overwhelming, but these regulations were put in place for a reason. The AIT Exam Prep instructor tries to help the student step back from test anxiety and put things in perspective so that the regulations have meaning. Understanding the meaning of the material will ultimately affect how administrators run their building. A well-run building will lead to a quality of care which ultimately yields the best quality of life for the resident.
Students should review class material prior to class to maximize learning during the class.
